My mother's computer (emachine) acts strange, websites pop up constantly, for no reason. These aren't porn sites or ads, they are bonified sites apparently. The heading above the url address bar in the Explorer window of each of these pop up sites reads "FROM INTERNET SPEED MONITOR". I've told people that windows don't just pop up out of nowhere, but these do! Very strange. I am a Mac user so I am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bryan
Here's some examples of sites that pop up:

OK, upon reading your Malware Removal section and checking my control panel, I came upon Internet Speed Monitor in my Add/Remove Programs control panel, twice. A general search on this says that it is malware, but it does not show up on your list of items that should be removed. Stupid question I guess but should I remove it?

You need to do the read and run me first, you can try to remove it from add and remove program but thats not going to solve your problem. Please follow the link I provided and follow it through.
