virus

i had the new virus win32 = kept on shutting down my computer and/ or getting the blue screen. had the system cleaned out once and installed Mcaffe 2004, BUt i think i have it again. can anybody help me get rid of it and keep it out. I have 3 computers, 2 that run with win98 and have no problems and the third win XP this is the one getting the virus all the time.

 

does the XP box have ALL the windows updates on it??

 

it should have all the updates the computer is less than 3 months old and when ever i go online i update the antivirus and i use ad-aware 6.0

 

That's a good thing

but Kodo was referring to going to windows update to be sure that your OS has all of the critical updates from Microsoft.

do this first

go online. click start. at or near the top of the pop up window you should see "windows update". click on that and that should direct you to the M$ site for updates. Download and install all that are marked as critical. You should also be sure that you have service pack 1, which should be available there also if you do not have it. After this, run your antivirus and adaware. see if that doesn't help you if you have a critter in there. Post back if you need more help.

This is for your XP box. wouldn't hurt to do 'em all!!
