    Hi there,

After I let my son's friend use my PC I discovered I had the Virut virus.
Fortunately my Avast AV picked it up and I was able to remove it to the AV Chest.
(took for ever btw, as it had spread through my entire system.)

Anyway, I've managed to restore my HD but I have one problem.

I restored Outlook Express but I had to move the following files to the
chest also, as they could not be repaired......

    wabmig.exe
    oemig50.exe
    msimn.exe

I've now lost all my emails and I'm wondering if anyone could tell me
if there is a program that would help me repair the above files so
that I could possibly retrieve the emails from OE.

I'm new here so I hope you don't mind me posting a plea for help.

    Skyliner.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You may find over a period of time that you either have more files that were deleted that you need or you may find that some of the infected files have not even been found yet. Your system may be unreliable.

You could try running the Virut removal tool mentioned on the below page:

Another possibility is the below program:

    Dr.Web CureIT
