Hello all. I'm new to the forum. Thanks for allowing me in. My question is: how do I download programs already loaded on my computer to a cd to be installed on a new computer? I'd am getting a new system and some of my program discs are damaged.:cool

 

Assuming you are using Windows XP: (please correct me if you are using something else)

Locate the installation files on your computer, right-click them, and select Send To --> CD-RW Drive [driveletter:]

Note driveletter will actually be the letter assigned to your drive.

Next, go to the drive, and ensure that the folder list is turned off. Insert a blank CD, and click the 'Write These Files To Disc' link at the left hand side.

Please notice that Mada said "Installation files." This is the file that when run(double clicked) begins the install procedure.
It is not possible to do what you want to do if the "installation/setup file" for the program is not available. There in no way to transfer an installed program from your computer to another.

If you do not have the installation files, freeware can be newly downloaded. Applications that you have purchased can usually be re-downloaded from the company site by giving them your license key.
