    Hi

As PClover has provided a link to XP driver CD for your model PackardBell PC, then next steps are:

As you have only used this PC for 4 days, what woudl reason be to not like Vista, hope its not the general comments folk have made without actually using it past a week, once all the junk that is added to OEM PCs is removed then with the spec of PC you have Vista will run fine, its a different GUI but a week or two you will get hang of it, try it before dismissing it too early.

Do you have a XP CD and licence key thats unused?

    If so then,

Boot to XP CD (may need to enter BIOS and change boot order to 1st boot device CDROM) then follow the install prompts to install XP, will need to delete the main partition are then re-create and format to NTFS, then continue with install, some guidance on installing XP with pictures here

Once installed, armed with the driver CD you will need to start installing the drivers, start with the Chipset one first then reboot and install the others, rebooting if told to do so.

Once you have no yellow ! marks in Device Manager, then install security software and a guide is here on good suggestions (note only 1 resident live scanning antivitrus, firewall and antimalware application to be installed)

Connect to internet and update security apps and Windows.

    hey, cheers for the reply

The reason i am switching to XP is because the pc is for my recording studio and all my software and hardware work better with XP.

Do i need to use the internet to install? to update anything? because i was not planning on using this pc with the internet

    cheers

    Gotcha on reason.

If never going online then no reason to connect to net, but depends on what service pack XP CD you have as the service packs add stability and compatability to many applications, but you can download the main service pack files and install not on the net just download on a PC that is connected transfer to CD and run on that PC.

    Network install of XP SP3

Only thing that kinda worries me about not allowing a PC to be in the net even if not all the time, is that its likely not to have Antivirus applications, so transfering files to that PC that maybe infected can cause that PC to gain malware, wont be stealing your data as no internet connection but still causes the headache in removals. Caveate to this is if you dont transfer any files to this PC that have not been scanned with a PC with antivrius beforehand or you trust the source 100%

well i tried downloading the drivers, it says i have to live in France to download the pack with them all. so i tried to download them one by one but the links off the PB site didn't work either. I tried to download them of the manufactures website but have not been able to find them.

    Any tips?
