Vista and D-link wireless probs....

I just installed visat one my computer and everything is fine....but.(always something) I have to use a wireless adaptor to get internet.I have a USB from when I had Bell south DSL and a Dlink DWL-132 rev-a usb adaptor. Neither has a driver in vista.I didn't think Vista had drivers already for either of them. I tried the Dlink website and thought I found the driver the Dlink but when I tried to install them.....nothing? Then I found drivers for the bellsouth (Netopia) usb vista drives.I think anyway..no good there either. IS there something in vista I'm missing?Need help soon I only have about a week left to activate vista!:cry

 

well, not really an answer. but, why don't you hardwire your comp so that you can get your os registered? i was kinda looking at this stuff 2 weeks ago, as i had 2 adapters laying around (linksys, and a dlink), and was wondering if i could get them to work with vista. i believe on the linksys site (i can't find the thread now, on their forums), they were saying to try using the xp drivers (for vista 32 bit). or just try letting vista recognize the new hardware and go from there. not sure if it will work, but it looks like you have an older adapter, that's not even mentioned on the dlink site.

yes, i know you said dlink, but you might want to try what they said on the linksys.

fyi, i just wound up buying a dlink adapter for like $30 + tax. i figure i can always sell my old one cheaper if i choose. g/l, sos

 

I tried that to but it didn't even see the file I had with the XP driver in it? I've seen some posts saying to right click and check "run in xp drivers" or something like that but I can't find any way to do that. I put the usb adaptor in and it says it's found new hardware but it won't find any drivers for it and when I try to look for them...can't see them in the folder on my usb storage thingy.
