Vista's task scheduler has a bunch of tasks running at different times, and i was wondering if i can delete/stop them so they wont eat up resources....Should/Can i do that?

Yes you can stop delete tasks, however it maybe a better option to disable them instead, so you can if anything doesnt work as it should, restart them.

Click Start and in the Start Search Box type task and the task scheduler will show in the list.

Or you can enter Task Scheduler via Start > Control Panel > System and Maintanence > under Administrative Tools > Task Scheduler ( you will get a UAC warning prompt, this is normal )

Image of Task Scheduler and all listed tasks, note not all will be set to run by default.
