I need help. I have exhausted all of my ability.
If you are in the broadcast business you have realized the makers of Vista never thought about us.
I am trying to install a Fresh XP operating system on my comp that has Vista Business. Booting from the XP CD. I get a Crash Blue Screen every time it starts its install. How do I get rid of Vista?

I have also tried 2 different sound cards hoping vista would cooperate in the recording function, still no.

The basic problem is I can't record what I hear or watch on Vista. It also doesn't take any outside playback device(s).

Any help would be great, thank you geeks.

And you are booting up from shutdown to the XP installation CD? Don't you get an option to format the hard drive, likely C:?? And it is an installation CD, not one created for recovery?? :wave:wave

I am booting from the Installation CD. No option. Installation, not recovery.

    Thank you

Something's not right here. An install CD will give you the option to format and install on a named drive. I do several a month. It makes no difference what your current OS is, as your 'puter doesn't go there.
Maybe I'm mistaken and somehow your BIOS is looking for Vista??:confused
And have you explored the BIOS to see if this is the case? But I haven't ever seen something like that.
On a side note, you do have a product key for that XP install, right? Because I don't believe it will accept your Vista key, but I'm going into an area where I will readily admit I could be mistaken. :wave:wave
    Anybody??

By 'hear or watch'do you mean recording radio and TV? If so you have to have some sort of hardware capture device in your comp. What do you have, and have you found and installed Vista drivers for it?

Is this a Microsoft XP CD? Some XP disks are tied to particular computers so you might be trying to use a disk that when it sees it is not a particular brand computer, will refuse to install.

Your PC probably has a SATA drive. XP has very limited support for SATA drives. You will most likely require the SATA drivers on a floppy disc or slipstreamed onto an XP installation disc, provided your PC even has any XP drivers..

Alternatively, you could describe your Vista problem and possibly resolve it without such drastic measures.
