vista back to hp

could someone give me some easy to understand instructions on how to go from vista back to xp . I have an hp desktop that came with xp but with a free upgrade to vista, I am having some software and hardware issues and am really considering going back . my computer did not come with a xp cd , I had to make 3 recovery cd's when I got it . I dont really want to do a whole computer recovery unless that is the only way .

That I can understand. Was a bit confused on the issue. confused It's late here and I'm not as young as I use to be.

If the computer came with XP originally, using the restore disks would be the easiest way.

 

followed that link but didnt see anything that it said to open , all I have is a vista upgrade cd tried to use the restore disk but they didnt seem to work either , should it start auto or do I need to go into a certain file and which one would it be ?

 

The directions in that article are very detailed. Did you even read the article?
