    Hallo

I have Vista home premium. Each time I reboot my computer I get a blue screen. I have to wait 20 - 30 minutes before it boots properly, and is very slow. I have removed any uneccesary start up programs. When I ran a vista start up recovery V2 disc I got the following in the log :

problem signature 01 : External Media
    "" "" 02 : 6.0.80001638660600118000
    03 : 3
    04 : 65537
    05 : Unknown
    06 : Bad Driver
    07 : 0
    08 : 3
    09 : WroRepair

I disabled the video driver after this, and removed the Nividia Graphics driver which has been crashing my computer ever since I had a load of malware, but the problem remains. Without the Nvidia graphics driver I have a patchy screen with striations going down it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi

Thanks a lot for that advice, I have been worried about all the problems I have been having, other than the booting. I thought maybe I was being paranoid, and this was being caused by a corrupted system. I will do as you suggest!:)
