Vista Business problems

Hi all,
I have HP laptop running Vista Business Licensed. Before couple of days some programs failed to start or loaded very slow. For example if i try to open iTunes, Microsoft Office 2007, Skype, Nero...first I get a window saying Windows is installing...then Windows is configuring...and after couple of minutes the program will open...and in some cases like Live Messenger it doesnt even start!
If anyone can help please whats the problem?
With /scannow I get that something is wrong...but I cant repair it because Vista was preinstalled...and now I can just turn the laptop to fabric settings with HP Recovery disks?
Can I repair just Installer or?

Hello Dani, welcome to Major Geeks.

Either you have too many programs loaded from camera, scanners, printer and such

or

You have somthing running in the background. this could be (too many) toolbars, Google stuff...

or

It could be malware.

I dont have many files from camera...just a few from my PDA...thats all,
but I have so many toolbars in Internet Explorer...Google, Yahoo, Windows Live, one from Norton Security, Adobe Contribute, IE Pro some add-ons, speedbit...
but I never use IE just Firefox for browsing...I'll uninstall them all...if that's causing troubles
I know Spybot for a long time, very useful software...but even with the latest updates it doesnt find some malicious programs running on Vista
However, good advices...much better than Microsoft online support gave me
