Vista - can't delete icon

i've tried everything I can find here. won't even show up in the registry. tried safe mode deleting, tried making copies of the the same file to confuse the computer, then delete it. when i click refresh or restart, there it is again. it is an old song that somehow got corrupted. low and behold, it shows up again.

I am convinced ENIAC would be a more efficient system than Vista. When deleting a shortcut becomes troublesome - you know you've taken a step backwards. Unlocker, and MoveOnBoot have proven to work for naught.

I've hated Macs forever but am actually considering getting one now. This is simply reprehensible on so many levels. Yes, i've literally spent 12 hours straight trying to delete an old shortcut that won't go away. Someone tell President Obama he shouldn't do away with Gitmo and get rid of Vista first.

Someone has to know something. All and any input appreciated.

I am a little confused. Are you trying to delete a music file and it keeps coming up each time you restart?

 

Is it a permission problem? Sometimes I've had a file that for some reason thinks I don't have permission to alter it.
You can access the permission details through properties/security tab. Might be somewhere to start.
