vista codec package no sound

I know this resembles an earlier post I made, but I provided wrong info then and I'm hoping someone can help me. I installed the Vista Codec Package through MajorGeeks and while the video is great, there is no sound. I get all my other sounds. I removed the program and installed it again this afternoon with the same result. It's really frustrating to see the picture but get no sound. Can anyone help? Thank you.

 

Install Klite codec pack.

I thought you had this fixed.

If you're interested, I release BETA versions on a separate site.
There is one Item in the changelog that deals with sound issues.

Hi Shark: Nope, it's not fixed. Still no sound. I checked your BETA site and didn't see what I am supposed to do with it.

 

Grab the x86 installer.. extract the contained file using WinRAR or similar program.
Uninstall any codecs you have installed and Install the new download.

Shark007: Don't you think it's kinda stupid that you have to uninstall your current codecs? might wanna look into fixing that.

 

I don't want to get in the middle of anything here, folks, but I will report that I tried K-Lite and had the same situation as with Vista Codec Package. Then I tried something called CCCP that I read about while checking out K-Lite, and it worked just fine. Thanks for the help.
