Vista Disk

    My friends laptop needs windows vista re-installing but it came pre-installed, is there any software I can download to put on disk so it can be re-installed?

    Sadly no as Windows Vista is not a free download, but a few things to try.

    1. Check that the model of laptop doesnt have a recovery partition as this could be the route to restoring Vista back, not all laptops have this but most modern ones do, so check with the Laptop makers support site for that model if their are steps for recovery. Do tell us the make and model of laptop also.

    2. If their is no recovery partition then maybe you can purchase a recovery CD/DVD from the makers site.

    3. Could purchase a cheep version of Windows off an auction site, but it would be retail Vista so would not come with an pre-loaded software that the maker would have installed originally.

    4. Does it really need re-installing? as some issues can be fixed before a re-install is needed.
