I have religiously stayed away from Vista until recently and I think I just found the reason why. Anyway, I have a very high end server (quad processor/4gb memory) I just bought with Windows Visa Business. I am using it mainly for a video server and have Adobe Premiere Elements 8 and Nero 7 as my two primary applications for getting work done. Anyway, Last night I finished editing a video in Premiere and burned a set of DVD files to a folder. They were burned as NTSC DVD. I then burned a physical DVD using Nero but when Windows media could not play it telling me that it was burned for Region 2, not region 1. I checked the DVD drive and everything everywhere was set to region 1. So, I then fired up Adobe and burned a physical DVD. It played no problem on both the computer and TV. So my first thought was to blame Nero but I suspect that it has something to do with Vista and some sort of built in DRM that thinks that I"m trying to get my hands on content that I don't own. I've been beating my brains out for the better part of 2 days trying to get to the bottom of this and I don't have any other ideas. Anyone have experience with this?
