    Hey Everyone,
I think you guys are awesome! The help I got removing vundo worked great. I have another issue now. I have windows vista and my hard drive keeps getting smaller. I have turned off the restore points, and using disc cleanup. I have only 10% of my hard drive to work with, and i really only have a 160gb drive. Let me know what you guys think.

    Hi

Are you 100% sure you have removed all malware off your PC as you never did complete the Read Me and attach the logs that Chaslang asked for here?

If you have turned off System Restore then any space that used up will be recovered, so you likely have something else taking up that space, malware is a likely suspect.

My computer started working a lot better and the issue with the internet was fixed. What all logs do I need to post for this particular issue with my hard drive. Thanks for your help. You guys rock!!!!!!

    HI

If you still have hard drive space missing and have:

    • Turned off System Restore
    • Cleaned all junk and temps with likes of CCLeaner
    • Not downloading from p2p ( these files can be GBs in size and eat a HD quickly dependent on how many being downloaded ) are you?
    • Turn off hibernation > Right click HD > Properties > Cleanup and in the list click Hibernation file cleaner, this will delete and disable the hibernation file, which can be GBs in size.

then malware is still a possablity and you need to post the logs from the Read ME as in the thread I linked to in Malware.

Also, how much space should I expect to have free with vista?

    Hi

You needed to post those logs in the malware thread of yours, however I have moved them into that thread and the malware folks, will tell if this is caused by malware still on your PC.

As for free space, then a standard install of just Vista SP1 will be in the region of 10-14GB dependent on version used, this does not take in to concideration how many user accounts on your PC, as different users may be downloading large files, also dependent on your installed applications and saved files, the more games, applications, music, films, pictures etc the more space it will take up.

Not knowing what you have on your PC I would be guessing to how much free sapce you should have.

Have you done all the bulleted points I mentioned earlier? did you get any space back.

Please post a screenshot of your C: Drive Properties, to do this click Start > Computer > rigth click the C drive and choose Properties, this will show us what your stats are like.

Keep that window open with the properties then click Start and in the Start Search box, type Sniipping and open the Snipping Tool, with this we will get a screenshot of your Properties Box, once the Snipping Tool is open click the small black triangle next to New and choose as I have in this image "Window Snip"

and then click the Properties Box and it will cature that portion of your screen, save it and attach.

I did do the bulleted items and I got some space. I have about 30gb of space left. Is it normal to just have that much space in vista. I don't have any Mp3's or anything like that on. I have attached the window snip as you requested. Thanks.

If you're absolutely sure that you don't have that much space used up you can always run chkdsk c: /f just to make sure that there's no error reporting free space. It's happened to me before.
