vista email problems

Hi all,

Since updating my OS to Vista Home Premium, I'm having trouble accessing my emails. The rest of the Internet works fine like it did when I had XP, but now when I try view my emails and it takes forever for them to appear, delete etc.

Do I need to change some settings to get it back to how it was?

Are you using Windows Mail? What firewall and anti-virus programs are you using?

Did you export your email account from Outlook Express on your older computer and then import it into Windows Mail or did you setup your email account in Vista by starting from scratch?

 

I'm using Yahoo mail. My AV software is AVG 8.0, the same as always. My firewall is the standard windows one. The account was orginally created years ago on my old PC.

 

OK, so you only use webmail, i.e. access your email via web browser. Do you use Internet Explorer or another browser? How about web browsing in general? How does it compare to your other computer?

I have a free Yahoo email account and can access it from my notebook PC running Vista Home Premium and IE 7 with no problem, so I don't know whether I can help solve your problem. But, the additional detail you provide subsequent to your original post should be helpful to anyone else who may be able to help.

I will suggest you try temporarily closing/disabling AVG as a test and see whether that has any affect.
