Hey! I have had my HP Pavillion since over a year now, with no such problems arising. But yesterday as I started up my laptop and logged in, 2 minutes later, it froze and stop responding. Even safe mode started freezing. I have no idea what could be causing this. I have already disabled Windows Defender which seems to be the most frequent cause to all of this, but it didnt work. I have also been getting 2 error messages:

When pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete: logon process has failed to create the security options dialog.
With a dialogue message of: Failure - Security Options

    AND

    Error: HPHC_Scheduler.exe Application error.

Any help would be appreciated! Pleasee??

I've had the same problem with my G6000 for months now. Fortunately we only use it as a media machine for our cell fones and video etc.

I just purchased a copy of Vista to do a repair this weekend. Hopefully it will also cure the wireless card which also stopped working recently. Common fault apparently.
