Vista Freezing and Speaker Sounds

Hi guys I am running an HP Pavilion with Windows Vista, a Nividia graphics card and AMD phenom 64 processor.

I am having frequent problems of it freezing up on me. When it freezes up I don't get a blue screen of death or anything like that, it just freezes and some red lines appear on the screen over what I am looking at and sometimes sounds come out of the speakers.

It does this when I am playing World of Warcraft, browsing facebook, youtube, opening up a open office document, etc...

I have checked in device manager and nothing in their seems to be indiciating a problem with the graphics or video card.... no ! or warnings.

I am about to run this CCClearner as it appears that running one might be a good idea.

I am looking for some advice, I have read past posts that suggested the cleaner and looking in device manager, but what do you guys think about this? Is it a definite problem with the tower? or could it be the monitor? I suppose if i had another monitor i could hook it u while it freezes, but i don't.

 

To me it sounds like Overheating. I would download SpeedFan or another temp program to check temps.

 

Ok I downloaded that and installed it. I will have to see if it crashes again and does that. It hasn't since the last time i posted. It's weird sometimes it crashes when I'm doing stuff other times I will walk away and come back and find that it is frozen and the static is coming out of the speakers. I will see how this works.

 

Well today it froze at startup.... any ideas?

Could this be a ram or video card issue?
