I have a laptop which was dropped and now doesn't boot. The laptop is a Sony Vaio running Vista. I removed the hard drive and attached it to an XP Pro machine. I was able to retrieve most of the data but cannot get access to the Local\Applications folder to retrieve the Outlook pst. I tried changing permissions to gain access with no luck. From what I have found on the net, this is a common problem and no-one seems to have found a solution yet. Major Geeks might though! The laptop had no passwords, encryption was not being used and the hdd does not appear to have any errors. I am logged into the XP machine with administrative priviledges.

Is there any way I can get access to that folder?

    Thanks in advance
