Trying to update Yahoo! Messenger on the system. I have it downloaded with it saying that Yahoo cannot install the necessary components..please check your fire wall and try again. I turned it off, and I put in an exception on the fire wall to allow the program, but it's still not working.

I have Webroot along with the Windows firewall.

side note, this is for a friend and will need time to translate information between here and there. copy and paste will be done as much as possible.

    Hi

Possible is that the Windows Installer needs updating or is corrupt, so try installing the latest version http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942288

Also right click the Yahoo Messenger installer and choose Run as Administrator and see if that helps.
