    Hi

Are all PCs the exact same build as hardware etc is concerned?

I use Acronis True Image 2009 with my Vista PCs and it works fine, if you have Ultimate and Business Vista versions then they have inbuilt imaging, but I still prefer Acronis.

Never had issues with imaging any Vista PC with Acronis, give it a whirl as its full version demo is free for 15days trial, Acronis TI 2009

I downloaded few days ago a trial and created a boot disk with acronis. Hardware is exactly same for all 20 pcs. Which version of acronis did you use. I noticed online there was a lot. I was looking at the home edition.

Have you used business imaging for vista?

    HI

I just used Acronis True Image Home 2009 (same one I linked to above), dont thing as your PC are all same spec that you would need to go with Acronis's Workstation products as your only really imaging one PC in essence.

If you mean the inbuilt imaging in Windows Vista Business, then no I have not, but as its the same as in Windows Ultimate that I do use, its ok, not perfect but OK.

whats bad about vista ultimate imaging? Can you make a boot disk with it to image?

You would need somewhere to store the image. Unless these machines are networked then a USB drive would be the best solution. Restoring a Vista image with Acronis would take round about 10 minutes per machine, depending on image size.

However using Acronis in this way would be a pretty serious license infringement. The license is for use on a single machine, even if the program is not installed and you just run it from its boot disk.
