When first installing Windows Vista, my boot up time was extremely short. Less than a minute.

Then, after updating through the Windows Update feature, the load time jumped to almost 3 minutes!

I installed ALL the security and optional updates. I was wondering if there is any news on one of these updates slowing things down. Obviously I don't need things like the North Korean or Spanish language packs but I just selected everything.

I just updated my vista. Found no issues. I have the ultimate version. Still just use vista as a learning tool. Xp is still my primary. Maybe remove the updates and see if that helps?

I can not swear to this. Starupinspector for windows may now work for vista. May download it and see whats starting with your computer. That may help track down the issue. Hope that helps.
