Vista not compatible stuff

I have a thread on the software board because I thought this was a software problem. You might see what I have already done so all of that won't have to be repeated.

I haven't been able to print in a week and a half. It looks like I'm down to no Vista driver for a chipset on the mother board whatever that means. Can I upgrade and run Vista? (And still run my ancient plotter?)

I have Everest if you tell me what you need to see.

You may be better off sticking with XP, due to until the hardware vendors get on the boat, or consumers upgrade to newer equipment (sorry, had to say that), there is no need to go with Vista. Tell the truth, what does Vista do, that XP has not done for you up to this time?

Only reason I am using Vista on this desktop, is due to it came with it, but for a while I was using XP, and that was more of a geek thing then anything.

 

I was using the Vista Office software and liked it, so I thought it made sense to go Vista all the way. It has some nice features, but printing is a nice feature, too. So in your opinion, I wasted the money (and time) I spent on Vista, because if I buy a new PC it will come with Vista on it. And now I will have to spend more time getting back to where I was.
