This question is for a friend ...this is what she said...

"I am running Vista Home premium and I can't get into some of my folders such as "my vidoes", "my Pictures" etc.

I used McAfee anti virus until they wanted buckets of money for another 12 months so I installed AVG free and then I keep getting "access denied" on my files and folders."
    Any thoughts please??

A lot of systems have app conflicts when users remove one anti-virus program and install another -- mainly because the original program wasn't actually completely removed by the uninstall process. A good example is the need to use the "Norton Removal Tool" to completely remove Norton from one's system. In your case, with McAfee, I don't know if you might have a similar problem because the McAfee wasn't completely removed, but it might be a good first step to insure that it IS completely removed, and then see if that solves your problem.
