I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate with all updates

When my computer comes back from sleep (powersaver) mode the quick launch bar disappears. Also, after it disappears any window that I minimize disappears.

The file "users/microsoft/internet explorer/quick launch" exists and has a program list in it.

The Quick Launch box on the toolbar menu is checked.

When I reboot the computer the Quick Launch toolbar reappears.

Does anyone have a suggestion? I would really appreciate some help on this one.
