Vista reporting low drive space

Drive D: is a recovery partition on this HP laptop, and Vista is reporting that drive D: is low on space. Of course it is. How do I stop this message? I know I can disable all balloon messages, but I don't want to do that. I just want to stop seeing this "low drive space" balloon every 30 seconds... any help is appreciated.

 

What size and how much used space does Computer show for the recovery partition. My Compaq Notebook shows 705MB free of 6.56GB for the recovery partition.

 

Size: 8.25gb
Free Space: 4.81mb

This has been slightly modified by me. I can't test if this will work or not, since I do not have low disk space. Dword may be incorrect. It is the best I can come up with right now.



Which version of vista is this?

I never got a chance to apply the fix.... the dude that owns the PC said "bahhhh... don't worry about it.... I don't care about it anymore..." But thanks for the info anyway. Your instructions were perfectly clear.... I'm no stranger to modifying reg keys and your info was clear enough for a noob So, thanks again. I'm going to keep this info 'on file' for future use. When I do use it, I'll send you a PM or something to let you know how it went....

Thanks. Since it is vista, based on xp info, I'd guess it may work.
