vista serial communications program

Does anyone know of a communications program that works with Vista? I am a telephone technician and need to communicate with several different phone switches via serial links. It seems in all their wisdom that windows has left out hyperterminal, Which I never liked anyway. My old friend procomm plus doesn't seem to be able to make the cut. Thanks in advance for any insight.
