While downloading the Vista SP1, my computer hung up, froze, then I got the famous Blue Screen of Death. I tried all recovery/repair options in Vista and was unsuccessfull in all attempts. I had to reinstall Vista from the rescue disk. Fortunately, I back up all of my files to a NAS, so they weren't lost. The problem is that Microsoft Office is no longer on my computer.

Is there a location or a way to find my previous license for Office? I would hate to have to pay another $300 for Office. Any ideas would help.

If the product was legitimately purchased, the Microsoft Office License and Product Key should be on the plastic covering which covers the MS Office disks.

Since you reinstalled Vista the 25 digit alphanumeric code is likely gone. You may try asking whoever you purchased the computer and/or MS Office from - long shot, I know but it is worth a try! ;)

Failing that you might want to try purchasing Microsoft Office from either eBay or perhaps craigslist. On those sites MS Office versions are available for considerably less that $300 dollars.

    Good Luck!
