I read recently on here that someone had a disaster with their pc while installing Vista service pack 1. I myself havent heard of any more problems with SP 1, but i was wondering if anyone else has before i try to install it.

Has anyone heard of any more problems?

    Hi Giant275

I did have an issue with an uninstalled comodo firewall that corrupted the security center and stopped SP1 from installing on 1 PC only, but the install was aborted so was not a cause of any issues, did have this resolved quickly and I have SP1 instaled on 3 PCs with no issues, the 2 others worked without issue.

Also I had been testing the betas of SP1 and in the multitude of installs I made of SP1 in its trial their were no major hiccups, if your free from malware and fully upto date with drivers, especially audio you should be ok.

If your offered this via WU then your system should be fine.

My Toshiba laptop got it installed a few days ago. The only issue I had was the loss of sound. Researched it at the Toshiba Support site and it was listed as a common problem and just needed to reinstall the Realtek sound drivers.
