When I try to run Vista Start Menu, I get an error message saying that the Create Process failed, Code 193. and % is not a valid win32 application. This program had been running for months prior to this. Any ideas?

    Hi

Does this happen also in Safe Mode (F8 at boot)?

Also uninstall and reinstall the app again from the source and if not mistaken its this app HERE

You may also find that some Windows updates could cause this type of app to fail as the kernel and other core apps may have changed so again from above like uninstall and re-install to test.

Alternate is malware so scan for that, I personally think its an outside thought but worth a scan or two.

Thanks for responding. I had try to uninstall & reinstall Vista Start Menu. It still did not work. Per your question, I tried booting in Safe Mode and Vista Start Menue did work. Rebooting normally again brought up the same error.

today when i tried to log on in safe mode the screen locks up with:configuring phase 3, do not turn off your computer. The same action occurs when i tried to boot up normally. I was going to try a system Restore to an earlier time but unable to do anything now.
