I have my desktop with Vista and my laptop with XP(because it can not handle Vista) and am amazed at how many people go back to XP without giving Vista a fair chance,It's much faster and safer than XP but does need a learning curve.

I am a very slow learner but stuck with it and now after about 6 months i am getting to grips with it.
I really like it now and would not go back.

Thank Goodness, I don't have to rely on Vista as my main OS.
I'm mearly 'Testing' it on a second HD.
(XP Pro SP3 is my main OS and will be for a long time to come.)

I've spent literally HOURS scouring the internet and all the best known 'Hacker' sites looking for ways to make Vista run faster and more like XP.
    It wasn't all for nothing.
I now have Vista Ultimate looking and acting very much like XP and something I and my customers can live with.

I've put all my adjustments and tweaks into batch files and scripts so I can set up a customer's PC in just a few minutes.
Most are upgrading from XP so they love the "Classic" look in Vista.
They hardly realize they are using a Strange New OS.
It greatly smooths out the transition.

When Vista was first released it was being loaded on PC's that were actually built for XP. That's no longer true......most new hardware today was made for Vista and there are NO XP drivers available for it.
So going back to XP just is NOT possible, that is, if you want all the hardware to actually Work.rolleyes

    Good Luck, y'all !

tleewade, will need to make 100% sure that they are running XP64 before installing the Nvidia XP64 drivers, as they dont work and can BSOD the PC if they are running XP Home or Pro 32bit (most common Windows version).

tleewade, do right click My Computer > Properties to check the version of Windows you are running.
