I am running vista ultimate 64 bit, it is showing 3.25gig.
I have 4 gig of ram, my motherboard can handle 8gig.
I have heard i might have to change something in the BIOS setting.
I really don't want to do that, shouldn't the 4 gig of ram just show up once a 64bit OS is installed.

    Please help

That mobo has onboard video and that's where the RAM has gone.

    Your ram is not gone.
You are using it for video as your GPU has none of its own. Windows does not list it as ram because it is not available for program use. That accounts for 512Mb, the rest is in overhead to store configurations of printers, modems, whatever. Although that is not 100% technically accurate, you can think of it that way.
Get your ram back by installing a video card.

    According to his signature:
He has this video card with 512 MB RAM onboard:

Is it possible the onboard GFX is not disabled? It wouldn't hurt to check the BIOS.

by the way it looks like my GFX is disabled, when i looked under display in device manager only my PCI graphics card was there
I read somewhere that when you put an external card onto the motherboard the onboard graphics card is disabled

And now im back at square one, still wondering why i can only use 3.25 gig of my ram:cry:cry:cry

Sorry guys just getting a little frustrated
