Vista Update failed Code 8007006e

This update (KB2447961) (Security Update for 32-bit Windows Media Encoder 9 Series for Window Vista for x64-based Systems) keeps failing and I get the failed Code 8007006e. I have re-run this update and it keeps failing and I can find no information to help. I have Windows Vista x64.

Have you tried to just download the update and installing it manually? I'm assuming you have sp2.

Yes, I have tried to get download both through updates and downloading it from Microsoft. All to no avail.

Um it says its a 32 bit update, and your using x64?

@kdavis045 Are ye sure you are using vista x64?

 

The URL got me to the "correct" Microsoft and I am happily downloading my original update. Microsoft didn't have very simple answers to lead to the "correct" answer. Thank you so much!

 

Whichever one I downloaded seems to be working. I'll keep in touch.

 

My original message: update (KB2447961) (Security Update for 32-bit Windows Media Encoder 9 Series for Window Vista for x64-based Systems). This Update still does not work. Maybe Microsoft will eventually come up with an update that will work. My Microsoft Vista x64 came pre-loaded on my new Acer computer, with no disk(s) to be able to re-load it if it fails. Any fixes for that?
