Vista vs Administrator?!

Geeks :major ! Come to my rescue!
So it seems, I have two accounts on my Vista RC1, one was an Administrator, one was a standard account...Somehow I changed my Administrator account to Standard and now I have no Administrator accounts and I can't do anything! What do I do? Please help me, this is my 'do it all' system.

 

try a system restore or go into safe mode and you should be able to reset the administrator account up again

 

At the top of the page is search, do asearch on administrator or user accounts and read the threads to try and find an answer. that's the best i can do for ya.

 

You can run a system restore by booting from the Vista CD.

It is very strange that Vista allowed you to turn off the last administrator account... IF you upgraded from Windows XP Home, if you boot to safe mode (tap F8 on boot), there may be an "administrator" account available for you to log in and fix it. If you did not upgrade, then the administrator account is probably disabled (it is disabled by default).

 

Well. There is an Administrator account on Safe Boot, but it needs a password inputed, and blank doesn't work. Please help me. :-(

 

Unless you can remember the password (it might have asked you to input it when you upgraded to Windows XP Service Pack 2), you are pretty much out of luck.

If you boot from the Vista DVD, and choose to "repair my computer", it should give you an option to run a system restore. I honestly don't know if restoring back to before the changes took place will fix the issue or not, but it is the only thing I can think of to try. Let us know if it works!
