vista wont run

When i start the laptop vista it geos to error recovery screen windows was not shut down properly ect,if i choose start normally it runs chkdsk then starts vista but stalls at the please wait screen,have also tried in safe mode but this stalls at the end of the list of drivers when it says please wait.
I have also tried to repair from vista disk but it loaded past user account selection then the screen went blue as if the desktop is about to load then froze again.is there anything else i can try.
