When I shut down or restart vista some of my settings dont save.

Like my tablet properties and key properties. Ill set my pressure the way i like and when i restart it all gone to default.
Windows firewall turns itself on automaticly too.
Everytime i need to restart its on again.

Also the view on folders resets. I make the view details in properties and it resests to default.

    Hi

Is your tablet software Vista compatible? also look for any updates.

Are you running any system cleaning software, CCleaner or similar? odd times depending on settings if you have changed them from default can remove set settings.

Do you have another firewall installed, if you dont the Vista one is better than nothing, actually its good for incoming blocks to data packets. BUT if firewall causing issue and it maybe due to a setting you have, final option is to disable its service, follow below:

Start > Run > Services.msc (or Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services Management )
Find the entry Windows Firewall > RightClick it > Properties and click STOP

Then Change the Startup type to Disabled > click OK and Exit

Folder settings can be a issue when you have 1000s of folders on your PC the OS only remembers so many so you need to adjust the BAGMRU size

Open Regedit and navigate to these locations:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell then locate BagMRU Size and double click it then click Decimal and change the size to a guesstimate of the amount of folders you have, mine is set to 20000

    then this location too:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam locate same key in BagMRU Size and adjust that to same size as you did above.

*warning* messing in the registry is dangerous and only atempt if you are confident or backed up the registry beforehand.

Their are some freebie apps that may do the same in Vista, but I have not tested them, below are a few I know work in Vista.

The tablet is updated and compatible.
I do run ccleaner...but im not sure it would even touch the settings as it is a driver type.

As for the firewall, I use Avast! and often times the web shield and standard shield clash with it and cause my computer to shut down before it completely boots up.

As for the registry it has already been set to 5000 by defualt. O__O
    Thats alot...

You seem to know alot about regestry, does this have anything to do with it? maybe its why im having all these setting issues.

My original account was under my dads name, richard, with no pass. it was standard. I then switched it too Kiech with pass, admin. but the name richard still came up. So i completely deleted the the account and starded a new one admin with pass. The name still comes up when i try to install software. And i actually had to remove my finger print reconizing software becuase it started to get confused on what account i was using. :/
