Vista won't start beyond welcome screen

I am having an issue with windows vista loading up. You enter the password and the system goes to the welcome screen and it runs and runs. It all started when I installed service pack 2 and it wouldn't let me load up, uninstalled the service pack and it worked once. After restarting again it is back not going past the welcome screen. It loads up in safe mode and I tried system recovery. Let me know if anyone knows of any fixes. Thanks in advance.

 

Figured it out...

During the restore it put back Mcafee Virus removal... uninstalled it in safe mode and then restarted. It worked so success....

 

Okay I didn't figure it out. I restarted the computer again and bam... back to waiting forever at the welcome screen. Let me know if you think it is spyware or a virus. The only thing I can do for now is just run in safe mode. It works great it just only loads up after a restore or I uninstall something. If I restart the system again it goes back to stopping at the welcome screen.

Did you also run the Mcaffee removal tool, you can find it towards the bottom of the Top Freeware Pic page?

And what antivirus did you add?
