Vista x64 update SP2 Error

Hello

I am also now unable to install the Vista Service Pact 2 update which keeps failing along with security update (Security Update for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB2479943)).


. "WindowsUpdate_00000490" and WindowsUpdate_80070490" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" are the error codes. I have tried to turn off antivirus and UAC to no avail. I was hoping someone had some insight on these issues.

Ok I cannot get the readiness tool to work correctly. After download and initialization, it is freezing at Installing Hotfix for Windows (KB947821) (update 1 of 1)... It sits at this screen for hours and does not continue. I have tried turning off AV and also UAC and same issue.

 

rename\move\delete

C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml

Retry sp2 install

 

C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml does not exist. I was able to run the readiness tool successfully. However, the problem still exists. I have attached the logfile created by the readiness tool.

 

Is anyone able to help with this?
