    Fellow Geekers here's my setup.

I have Comcast Internet 8meg (with power boost) coming into the house to a Linksys Cable Modem. That connects to my Buffalo Wireless Router.

My computer is hardwired to the Buffalo and is running Windows Vista Home Premium (with all updates, clean of viruses, normal geek stuff).

Computer XP is hardwired to the Buffalo and is running Windows XP SP3 (with all updates, clean of viruses, normal geek stuff).

My laptop is wireless, Windows XP, and picks up the Buffalo Signal (encrypted) just fine. (with all updates, clean of viruses, normal geek stuff).

Both Computer XP and Laptop can goto Speakeasy.net ~ Seattle and register at speeds of 24573 down 1572 up (16094 downlaod 1551 upload Second Reading).

Computer VISTA is crawling with a download speed: 1978 kbps (247.3 KB/sec transfer rate) and Upload Speed: 277 kbps (34.6 KB/sec transfer rate).

Called Comcast, they say everything is fine, communicating just fine with the modem... delete the cache, history, etc. restart. I even unplugged the power to the modem and to the buffalo, waited till the first cable modem initialized, then powered on the buffalo to make sure i got the auto IP address.

It worked one time but a few weeks has passed and I'm back at the beginning scratching my head...

Why is my internet connection with Vista so slow and yet with the other operating systems the internet is working perfect....

or if you can't answer that, can you tell me how I can tweak Vista to go warp 10?

I summon the great geek minds of the Internet... Please help a fellow geek.

    Thanks!

    My system specs:
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Intel Dual Core 3.0
    4 Gigs Ram
    Nvidia 7900 Graphics Card
    2 x 500 Gig Seagate Hard Drives
Clean of Viruses, Trojans, Spyware, etc.

Re: Vista, XP and Comcast Highspeed Internet **RESOLVED**

    *****RESOLVED*****

Fellow Geekers, I have resolved my own question and I'm posting the solution here for you to try out in case you too are wondering why your internet is squirrelly.

My system had GOOGLE WEB ACCELERATOR which was apparently conflicting with my Comcast High speed Internet.

At first I disabled it and didn't notice anything, then I uninstalled it.

BOOM... My Internet is ON FIRE AGAIN WOO HOO!!!

So if you're having problems with your internet and think you might be in the same boat, Delete Google Web Accelerator and then go to Speakeasy.net and test out your new settings. Hopefully you'll be surfing at the speed of light in no time. Thats what it was for me.

    God I love being a Geek! :-D
