vlc help

    robertbiferi I can't follow the rules

    I have vlc is there a way to have it stream Internet Radio?

    I go to 4bc.com on my Desktop and I can click a Tab and listen live.

    Is there a way to have vlc do this?

    Well if you look on google you find how to stream internet radio with VLC.

    And I open media then Open Network and put the URL in.
    And click play and nothing why?

    Because it is not a part of IceCast.

    For version 1.1.11 the following works fine.
    If not already visible, open the playlist window through View->Playlist. On the left side you see the Media Browser on the right side the Playlist window which is probably empty.
    In the Media Browser double-click the entry Internet which will unfold a few options, one them being the Icecast Directory. Of course, using any of these Internet options requires an active Internet connection.
    Double-click the entry Icecast Directory and after a few seconds a list of radio stations will be displayed in the Playlist window, which now has been renamed to Icecast Directory.

    There are between 80 and 100 choices to stream in VLC.
    If the station you want (like 4bc) is not on the list, then you can not use VLC to stream it.

    I did what you say and get to the part were I pick a Station.
    Then click Play and it opens a window were you can Add Items but I just whent to the bottum right and clicked Play again.

    And it takes me back out?

    Right click the station you've picked and select play.
