When I try to open a video file in VLC it opens it like it will show the vid, but then the video disappears and all I get is audio. I looked through all the settings and can't figure this out. I went to VLC's website as well, trying to search their forums is ridiculous. Any ideas??? TIA.

Google Gspot get it from free-codecs.
It is standalone software so you UnRar(like unzipping-Get WinRar if you don't have it) the file then go into folder and double click the gspot.exe file to run it.

Open the video and on the right hand column it will have a status box telling you if you have the correct codec installed. If you have it installed, you'll have to troubleshoot some more otherwise you have to get the codec.
