    OK...
I have several computers in the house.
I am running Win 7 on my son's computer ( his is the test bed)
running good ole XP on mine....

when I had his box on Win2000
I used RealVNC to remote control the box and be able to look at stuff remotely when needed to........ worked flawlessly

    RealVNC doesn't work in Win7
    Tried Ultra VNC
    and TightVNC

set up a VPN with Hamachi...

I can get the server running on my son's (Win7) box
and the viewer works on my (WinXP) box

I can "connect" with either Ultra or Tight
but with both I get an authentication error

I know it is the correct password... I typed the darn thing in.....

Turned off Windows Firewall.. no luck...

what else on Win7 should I look at that could be blocking me...

    this is driving me crazy

    Thanks
    Exeter

I tried RDP... but the issue with that is whenever I log on to the other computer, it logs my son off...
there are times I want to be able to show him how to do something, or he wants to show me something....

I'll go through the accounts again, but I can't find anything....

    I'll look at teamviewer..

    Thanks!

This caught my eye. I've long used Radmin for this, and consider it the single most useful program on our home network, as I can do whatever I want on the main PC while sitting in the comfort of the lounge using a Radmin client on my laptop. Only it isn't free and the license usage is strictly controlled.

We would like to do the same from another lappie to another PC trying Teamviewer, but does it require some form of request and acceptance each time before the host will accept a connection? If so that would be a nuisance, and reduce its usefulness. Radmin server will accept a connection at any time from any client it has previously OK'd on receipt of correct credentials.
