VNC through SSH connection

Hi

Trying to connect to my machine using vnc through a ssh tunnel. It was talked about on call for help, I have followed there instructions and are using the software that they link too.

I can get a connection to my machine but it fails when trying to start the vnc in internet explorer. With my laptop at home I can connect with vnc with both a viewer and in IE.

Message displayed when trying via ssh:
Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException. and then Loading Java Applet Failed...

Java has been reinstalled on the machine just in case that was the problem but it does work when using laptop on my network fine.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem, or even other ways a remote connection can be done securely.

I do not know the answer to your question but I tell you what I do.

I use UltraVNC. (Ultr@VNC - Installation, and Settings. ).

When you install VNC on the host computer, install the Server, and the viewer.

I install the encryption Module (http://msrc4plugin.home.comcast.net/msrc4plugin.html ), and generate a key.

I copy vncviewer (vncviewer.exe 1MB in the installation directory), and the encryption key to a USB flash drive.

That it, I do not need a Browser, Java, or and any other thing that slows down the connetion, and leaves traces on the viewing computer (in case I did not use my computer).
