I'm having a volume issue with my desktop that started yesterday, I can't hear anything when the speakers are plugged up in the back of the pc, I can hear music & other things when the speakers are plugged up in the front, but only hear when using media player, any suggestions ??

    Hi

What Windows Version are you using?

Did the speakers work ok the in rear audio sockets and do you have the speakers plugged into the correct socket (just checking they are not in the microphone jack), double check *socket is normally a green colour*

Check in audio properties that nothing is muted.

If the speakers worked in the front upunil yesterday, then what things have you done on your PC that are new, have you installed any updated drivers, any new software or updated any software, adjusted any settings etc, if so please name all?

Thanks for replying, I'm using Vista, everything was working fine Saturday from youtube to media player, tried to play something from youtube Sunday, no luck, but I could listen to my media player if i had the jack plugged up in the front, it's plugged into the same jack that it has been for 6 months, nothing is showing muted, I haven't done anything new except up a cd to my media library
