Vpn Advice

Not sure whether this is software or hardware so I'm posting here. I'm trying to get a VPN set-up on my current netwokrk but my current modem a sagemcom f@st 5355 doesn't support such things. So wpould there be another way to go about it? I'm currently looking into capable Internet Router models that can handle such things and just bridging my existing modem to that,but not sure whether that would work either.

 

an easy thing to try is the vpn service included with the opera web browser

and
https://help.opera.com/en/latest/features/#VPN
if that works, then i would think other vpn services would also work.
