Vpn Locking Facebook

I use a VPN from time to time, but I noticed that after I do, I have trouble with Facebook. A page I use always wants me to verify my hometown city. Until I do, it says I'm unable to post to my feed. I rest my location settings, click to confirm a few things, and after a day or two it unlocks. But this only ever seems to happen right after I have used the VPN. Note, I am NOT using the VPN at the time I log in to Facebook.

Could it be that when I turn my VPN off, it's resetting something local, to where Facebook sees it as a new location and locks me out (trying to protect me from identity theft). If so, can I do something to ensure the VPN resets me back to the same thing all the time (so I stop getting locked out of Facebook)?
