    Hi all,

I am about to set up a VPN so i can connect to my server from anywhere, it is running windows server 2003....

What is the best way to set up a VPN server which is not too costly, I have a BT Voyager 2100 Wireless ADSL Router, which i not sure has VPN.

If not should i get some 3rd party software, if so what program?

Does windows server 2003 have some in-built VPN software?

    Thanks for any help

    Dan

I would consider using WinGate VPN http://www.wingate.com/product-vpn.php

It is relatively simple and cheap.

For guidance on deploying the server as a VPN server, you can check out the Windows 2003 deplyment guide that gives you an idea. I would look under "Deploying Network Services" then "Deploying Dial-up and VPN Remote Access Servers", followed by the "Additional Resources....." bit. This guides you through defining the server as a VPN server.

Windows 2003 provides support for VPN connectivity using its Internet Authentication Service, but does not have a VPN server as standard.
