    Hi,

    Can anyone tell me what "vsmon.exe" is and why it would run my dual core at 50% capacity.

    vsmon.exe is a service for Zone Alarm firewall, and it likely is running up usage of your CPU due to a bad DLL it is trying to load.

    When it is running like that, try terminating it, and then checking the event log to see if it spat out any details about the problem file.
