VX2? Cannot get rid of this. What am I missing?

Hi Y'all

This is a client's machine where teenagers look for music and free computer games. I have installed Spybot S&D, ad-aware6, and spyware blaster. This PC runs AVG and Zone Alarm, and is updated daily.

Ad-Aware6 says this is VX2. There are recent and detailed directions about how to remove VX2, but... None of the files or registry keys they mention are present. I am not a beginner at this, I know how to edit a registry, and how to search for files that "don't belong."

Some of the pop-up windows are popping up with a reference to a gator server, so I opened a ticket with gator. Now, I already uninstalled all the gator apps I could find before I emailed them, but what I am trying to get out of them now is the names of the dlls that I need to remove if their ad-launcher does not uninstall automatically, as they say it ought to. I have no answer from them, yet.

 

Get the VX2 plugin for AdAware and run it. It's here at http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4283.html system restore off and safe boot mode just to be sure.

This should have been in spyware thread. If I didn't help you, post a hijack this log there and system info and someone with moer experience will help you.
